"Quantum of Solace" Movie Review

Quantum of Solace Pictures, Images and Photos

"Quantum of Solace" (**)

The new James Bond film has been getting pretty mixed reviews, and I can't argue with those people on why they dislike it: (too much action, no Q the gadget guy, not once is "Bond, James Bond" EVER said, the classic 'gun barrel and blood on the screen from shot' opening is instead shown at the end), whatever it may be, I don't blame them.

Now, the question is : "Did I like it"... Well, allow me to first start by saying that I am (in no way, shape or form) a 007 fan (my family is), but I have never been one. I am more of a "Indiana Jones" and "Mission Impossible" person. But, perhaps that is the problem here: I am not a biased opinion, I have no knowledge to compare this Bond film, to any other. Now, before I'm misunderstood, I want to point out that it's not like I haven't seen any 007 flicks; I've seen bits & pieces of quite a few, perhaps decent chunks of a fair amount of them. But, if I where to start identifying them, I'd probably mix them up (for the record, this is the first Bond movie I've seen in theaters, and seen all the way through).

Ok, so now that I have explained where I am positioned in the field of James Bond, let me rap this up. I think it was a far action flick to see in this bland blanket of time we call "The Holiday Movie Season". But for a 007 fan-boy (or fan-man) to express that they are upset with this, I leave any and all right to say so with any authority to them. All I can say is (and perhaps people will agree with me here): the villain STUNK. He was the most boring Bond villain ever (that I have seen or HEARD of at least). Average, Normal, Regular; those words described the type of person he sounded and looked like. Nothing special about him: no eye-patch, no fake arm, no cool weapon, no scar. LAME (sorry to sound childish, but that is all I can say about him), not to bash the actor, but just the character. (if it counts for anything to anyone, he did have creepy big bug eyes...) Worth seeing... sorry I can't help you any further than what I've said.

"Sex Drive" Movie Review

Sex Drive Pictures, Images and Photos

"Sex Drive" (***) (Thumbs Up) (See It)

I guess that the movie-going public anymore, just can't get enough of the coming of age tales. I'm really starting to see the whole movies of a 'Teenage-Odyssey' all over again (I guess audiences really did miss the 1980's).

I don't have much to say, just that, this was a pretty funny and impressive movie. I highly enjoyed the characters, and events of "Sex Drive"; this to me, is a probable buy (at least a rent, but I'd honestly go toward owning it). Comparable to 2007's "Superbad"? I suppose (like I said, if you mean: "yet another journey of young people in order to find themselves, and along the way they discover unforgettable laughs and a colorful cast of characters and crazy events", then yes; but if you get into specific plot, then not really).

Something else I got out of this is, I think it's about time Seth Green was the main character in his own movie, he's too funny to keep up the ensemble / supporting gig forever.

Hope this helped... not allot to really comment or even quote, it's just better to actually just go ahead and see this one (completely fresh).

Get Out & Vote for Change.

Mel Gibson opts out of "Lethal Weapon 5"

Not much to really say about this; just that he simply didn't want to do it.

Guess he really is: "Too Old For This Sh**" (Yes, I know that's Glover's line, but still)
