The Princess & The Frog - Mobile Pic
Looks pretty good. Been a while since they made an animated princess movie, so this film is a little bit of a big deal.
The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D Re-Release 2009? - Mobile Pic + (Old) Trailer
Apparently The Nightmare Before Christmas is to be re-released in Disney Digital 3D (again) this year. The mobile picture above was just taken yesterday, but the trailer below is a year or so old.
Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3D - Mobile Pic + Trailer
I am really excited for this, it's been forever since I saw Toy Story 1, and I'm pretty sure I only saw Toy Story 2 that one time in theaters. I will definitely try my best to catch these while they are out. Starts October 2nd, and only last two weeks. Mark your calenders! I have only seen the educational IMAX films in 3D, I really want to star taking advantage of the actual movies that are being put into 3D.

The Men Who Stare at Goats - trailer
This looks like the funniest thing I've seen all year. It reminds me a little of Burn After Reading which was another black comedy that I liked, but this doesn't seem as dark, which will probably be good.

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day - trailer
I know I'll be labeled a horrible person for saying this, but I'm not really a fan of the original. It was alright, and it had cool fight scenes, but I guess it just didn't take my breath away and won my heart like so many other people. I guess as far as "Boston + Irish Catholic + Crime + Cops + Mobs" I think The Departed is a much better film.

Capitalism: A Love Story - trailer
Michael Moore's next film explores the root causes of the global economic meltdown and takes a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated in what Moore has described as the biggest robbery in the history of this country the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private financial institutions... A very interesting and different trailer.
Amelia - trailer
The story of Amelia Earhart, the legendary aviatrix. Looks okay, not really my type of movie though.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - review
**1/2
I guess there is a lot that attracts the kid in us about summer blockbusters, especially one based on an 1980's cartoon, toy line, and comic book; way to outdo yourself Hasbro. When I saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in June, I wasn't exactly impressed with it, while I enjoyed it in the long run, and it was overall entertaining, it was just missing something. Mainly the main problem was the length, it was just too damn long.
But I am pleased to say, that G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is one of the most entertaining films of the summer. Overall I enjoyed it, I mean sure it was super cheesy and corny, but it was all for fun. Director Stephen Sommers' (The Mummy) vision worked well for this adaptation. The entire cast (from Duke, to Marlon Wayans' character, to Sienna Miller as The Baroness) delivered a decent performance. My only complaint, is that while I liked Dennis Quaid's work, there were a couple lines that he over acted with, but perhaps it was the script's fault there. I can honestly say that I liked it more than a decent amount of other films this summer. I am definitely plan on buying it.
Better than Transformers 2, and way better than Wolverine.

As soon as Ken Watanabe asked "Are you boys 21?" I thought this film was going in a completely different direction, Haha... It looks okay, but the vampire movies and shows are really getting old now.

June & July 2009 Movie Reviews (+Drag Me to Hell)
May
Drag Me to Hell
**1/2
If you enjoyed the humor of The Evil Dead Trilogy (Evil Dead, Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn, Army of Darkness) and the humor that translated into the lame style and disappointment of Spider-Man 3 you will enjoy Sam Raimi's new horror / comedy feature. Probably some of the best laughs I received this summer came from Drag Me to Hell, without a doubt full of serious head shaking, eye rolling, and face-palming moments, but all done on purpose (or at least I hope it was). Definitely worth a rent if you missed it in theaters. Probably one of the best-worst movies ever.
June
The Hangover
***
This experience was not only the funniest film I've seen this summer, but this entire year! Finally, an unbiased comedy that treats all it's characters will enough of their own 'moments', each and every character delivers a great laugh that rivals with each other. Not too much I can get into without instantly spoiling the film for your viewing. Worth a ticket, and worth owning.
Land of the Lost
**
I honestly can't say I 'disliked' this movie, but I certainly didn't 'love' it. Overall I'll just go ahead and say I liked it. I really enjoyed the performance by Danny McBride, course he has become one, if not my top favorite comedian lately, I'm really glad he's getting noticed and is on the rise in Hollywood. Will Ferrell did slightly above decent at least with what he was given, as always. I saw this film in the morning for $4, so I was satisfied because in the end I believe that it wasn't worth $8. Worth a rent, or better yet a viewing when it's finally on TV.
The Taking of Pelham 123
**1/2
As talented as John Travolta and Denzel Washington can be, I haven't been too satisfied with some of their films in the past, therefor I was hesitant on giving both of them my time. But I honestly have to say that this was a fair film. Got me through a boring thursday, so mission accomplished on my part. The directing and editing was cool, acting was at least at an average level. I'll give it second glances (not an entire viewing) when it's on TV.
Year One
*
Yes, the biggest flop of the summer, and the most underperforming comedy lately with all the talented comedians and actors involved. Harold Ramis co-wrote Ghostbusters and Strips, and directed Caddyschack and Groundhog Day; some of the top comedies to live up to therefor this film did not seem like a Ramis film. Oh well, better luck with Ghostbusters III.
Tansformers: Revenge of the Fallen
**1/2
Special effects? Check. Awesome explosions? Check. Original cast? Check. More robots this time? Check. Fun action scenes with funny dialogue? Check. A good solid story that's of a decent level and length? Shoot... Transformers II was a fun action/adventure blockbuster. But I'm afraid that it was just too long and the story was unbalanced, making it not live up to the original. I enjoyed it, and will look forward to watching it again when I own it; but better luck to the writers and editors on the third installment of the trilogy hopefully.
July
Public Enemies
**
Sure Michael Mann is a great writer and director, the guy made Heat! But, like certain parts of Heat and most of Collateral, to many scenes dragged, and even were unnecessary; ultimately, this film was too damn long. That's all I can say. I have to desire to own, or even rent it. Certain parts were good, once again the performances of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale were great, but this movie was not fully enjoyable in the end. No hate toward it, but certainly no love either.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
**1/2
I have seen all Harry Potter films to date except The Goblet of Fire (4th one). I highly enjoyed 1, 2, (even) 3, and 5. I have to say that either the third or the fifth is my favorite. But I'm afraid that too much of this (6th) was dedicated to too many quiet conversations that echo in huge hallways. 90% of the dialogue was whispering. I guess I'll buy this one to add with all the others, but once again: "I hope the next one is better."
Funny People
**1/2
The trickiest movie of the summer, I definitely like it, but was I close to loving it? Funny People have gotten generally positive reviews, 2/3 of the other people I saw it with thought of it in a negative tone. My one other friend loved it. Some parts weren't very funny, but were they apart of some deep, somewhat complex character development plot device? I'm afraid if I think too far into I'll end up not getting anywhere with it. All I can warn with: "Don't expect a full-on comedy, cause the seriousness lives strong in this film." This was some of Adam Sandler's best acting, and Seth Rogan was enjoyable as he usually is. But it seems that Judd Adatow's films are growing less and less funny, and more serious on life issues.

"No One Destroys The Sands of The Witch Crow!" (7/29/09 Update)
Good news everyone, we have started filming "The Sands of The Witch Crow" again.
We have filmed the first couple scenes of Part 6, and want to have it uploaded in early September; meaning that "999" has been put on hold.
The plan is to film footage during a month's period, and once a month a new episode will be released on the set date. It's not exactly as good as us being able to put a new part out a week, but it's honestly easier for myself and my friends. When we attempted to film Part 6 the first time, we rushed it and were a little over our heads, thus resulting in the poor qualities, and then thus resulting in us having to now redevelop and concept and plot and, and re-shoot Part 6.
Anyway, in related news, a Director's Cut Combination of Parts 3 & 4 (much like 1 & 2) will be uploaded later this week. Expect it around Saturday, August 1.
I hope all who reads this is as excited as my friends and I are.
Thanks,
Blake.

The Last Airbender - teaser
Based on the recent nickelodeon cartoon "Avatar: The Last Airbender"
Written & Directed by M. Night Shyamalan
I don't personally dislike him, but audiences and critics have been disappointed him for some time now. This also doesn't seem like his kind of movie. Oh well, I guess we can expect a twist in the end though.

Movie Reviews for May 2009
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
*
I really loved X2: X-Men United (2003), and I liked the original X-Men (2000), and I even thought X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) was alright (even if it was disappointing in too many parts). But I have to say that I am not impressed, or even pleased with the Wolverine movie. It was not very well paced, the characters weren't that well written. Now, I know the entire point of me doing these movie reviews is to 'get into it'... but, honestly, I don't have much to say, except this is the worst X-Men movie, a so-so superhero movie, and a slightly below average movie. I thought the writing just wasn't very satisfying. I did however enjoy the camera angles and backgrounds, and I thought overall the depiction of Wolverine's origin wasn't too bad. I felt that certain parts were too lame and cheesy. The one character that many fanboys were interested in, was Wade Wilson / Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). All the hype and anticipation that went into the role and presence of Deadpool in this movie was easily in vain in the end. Reynolds was only in it for about less than 10 minutes, and the adaptation of Deadpool was compltetely poor; In his final parts he reminded me more of The Mummy then the comic book character. This film was worth a viewing, when it's below $5, maybe I'll think of adding it to my X-Men DVD collection.
Star Trek
***
I am not even a fan of Star Trek... or should I say "I wasn't"... that is how powerful this movie is. The writing, the directing, the acting, the special effects, everything was amazing. This is the Star Trek film that has been needed for a long time. I can see (and have heard) how certain bits and pieces of this film could rub hard-core Trekkies the wrong way, but I'm glad that it is still being excepted in a wide range. Usually when I see a film I am always able to figure out who is my favorite character, but for this it's extremely difficult; Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, all were excellent. The only flaw with the new Star Trek film, was that they didn't film it with a second and third at the same time, but at least two sequels have been announced, and I can't wait. I could only hope (along with many others) that every summer can have a blockbuster this good.
Angels & Demons
**
When I walked out of The Da Vinci Code in May 2006, all I could say was "Well, at least there is only one more month until Superman Returns comes out...", and I was lucky enough this time to be able to say "Well, at least there is only one more week until Terminator Salvation comes out..."; I just don't like these films. It has nothing to do with a religious preference, but I just find them very boring. I was so close to liking Angels & Demons; only to be pissed at the very end. I wont give anything away, but let me just say that in the last 10 minutes they make a certain character appear a certain way, and I really liked it and thought it fit; but then in the last 5 minutes they turned it around and completely ruined that certain character... I'll have to include a spoiler alert in a video review of this soon. I hope there will not be anymore of these books to make into movies, cause I honestly can't take the dull story-telling anymore.
Terminator Salvation
***
Now, before I start out let me just say I didn't dislike Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines (2003), but it was the worst one, and it was a little questionable in certain parts. The first Terminator (1984) was great, but I'm afraid that I (along with the majority of movie goers, fans, and critics) have always thought that Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) was the best one. Yes, you heard that right, "was" the best one. I am extremely satisfied and impressed with Salvation. I think it fixes the stains, scars (whatever you want to call them) that were caused in T3; it surpasses T1 as far as I'm concerned; and (alright, I wont take my excitement too far) at least ties with T2 in many ways. But T4 has proved a lot more as it's own movie as well. Christian Bale as John Connor gives us the dominant action hero that summer movies need. Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright is a genius addition to the already established cast of characters. Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese is well done. And even the scenes Helena Bonham Carter delivers shows once again that she has done her acting the way she does it best (creepy). Over all, this film has helped me get over the fact of moving on since last year and having a summer without Batman or Indiana Jones.
Enjoy your summer everyone. I'll keep the reviews coming.

Review / Rant of The 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
It should have just been called "The Twilight Awards"...
My main problems:
1. The Dark Knight only won "Best Villain" (which was a given)
2. Indiana Jones 4 was ignored (at least have the fridge scene for "WTF Moment")
3. They were missing some categories that they have had before.
4. Twilight stole the entire show almost...
Best Kiss - ok, I understand that winning the popular vote.
Best Breakthrough Performance Male - fine, whatever.
Best Fight - Hell no.
Best Movie - F*ck no!
Andy Sandburg was a great host, and it did have allot of funny moments, but I'm afraid I liked 06 and 08 better.
I will twitter during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
I will try to make at least a tweet for every win.
